Due to hospital or clinic policies, the use of Child Life Specialist may be diminished or utilized in a different capacity (tele-health, phone calls). This provides a practice gap in education when forensic nurses must take on their present duties, along with providing comfort and advocacy to the pediatric patient and their families. This provides an opportunity for education for forensic nurses on how to better provide developmentally appropriate care for their pediatric forensic patients.
