Purpose:   The purpose of this experiential learning session is to provide a structured learning environment for the new and already practicing Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner to become comfortable with interacting with a patient who has experienced sexual assault. Attendees must either have attended a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Education Course for Adults and Adolescents or be a practicing SANE who would like extra training.

Learning Outcome:  The participant will conduct speculum insertions and detailed anogenital assessments. In addition, the attendee will conduct multiple simulated sexual assault examinations with evidence collection in a controlled, safe environment. Over the 2 ½ days, the participant will complete requirements for speculum insertion and simulated exams for the Texas SANE certification.

Cost: $30.00 (Covers lunch for October 10 and 11)
