Description

This course will discuss the use of suspect exams during forensic care. Suspect exams are extremely valuable for multiple types of exams besides just sexual assault (ie, homicide, child abuse, intimate partner violence, etc.). Providing more education to forensic nurses about this valuable tool of suspect exams can bring this topic to discussion in communities.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course, the learner will be able to:

  • Analyze the importance of a suspect examination for forensic nurses
  • Identify how to perform suspect examinations under different patient care settings
  • Compare credible and effective documentation for suspect forensic examinations
